EXCELLENT Based on 40 reviews Sarah Drummond2025-05-16Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Aron is friendly, professional, and timely. He has driven me many times in Uganda with no issues. I also recommended him to my friends, who he took gorilla trekking. Everything went smoothly and they had a wonderful time! david leslie2025-02-04Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. S2G Tours & Travels Rwanda Gorillas Was an excellent tour operator. The guide/driver Dan was with me the entire eight day trip. He was friendly and helpful and professional and his driving was always safe and careful. He assisted me in going through immigration at the Rwanda/ Uganda border. We were supposed to see gorillas in DRC but with consultation with Aron, the coordinator, it was decided that with the rebels overrunning Goma and getting close to the border, we shouldn’t take a chance of crossing into DRC. Aron was very involved in rearranging the itinerary on the fly, changing to see the gorillas in Uganda instead of DRC and going to a beautiful hotel on a lake with many islands. I saw everything that was promised just not as set out initially but as they say, this is Africa and you must be flexible and adaptable and not rigid and adamant. We spent an hour with a group of mountain gorillas. They were gentle and habitualised to humans. It was magical. Overall it was an excellent eight day tour and S2G Tours & Travels Rwanda provided everything that I wanted. We spent a week with Safari 2 Gorilla Tours in December 2024, and we recommend their services to all travellers wanting to see the wild treasures of East Africa. Booking the tour online was simple. The company is highly rated, all their charges are clearly displayed, explained and fair, and their response times are remarkably fast. We felt secure and confident throughout the booking process, and in specifying special dietary requirements. Our guide for the adventure, Aron, is a wonderful travelling companion. Knowledgeable, kind and willing to go that extra mile to make our trip unforgettable, Aron immediately made us feel safe and informed. The 4x4 vehicle for our tour was remarkably comfortable - which was appreciated during long legs of the journey - and the roof opens to give you amazing views and a great vantage spot for taking photos. We saw all the animals we'd hoped to see on the tour, much of which was down to Aron. He's obviously well-liked and respected in the guiding community, and is linked into a network that shares information on locations of interesting creatures. Aron was also able to get us into some incredible spots to take photos – he's confident behind the wheel, and knows how to a good angle for that perfect snap. The highlight of our tour was our trip to see the gorillas in Uganda. We got closer than we ever expected, and the tour was fun and well organised. We were heartened that Aron joined us for the gorilla trek – not because it was part of his job, buy because he loves wildlife and didn't want to miss an opportunity to get close to some of nature's greatest marvels. As Aron was as enthusiastic as us about the experiences we were having, it made the trip even more exciting! He always made sure that I understood what was coming next, was always up for sharing any information about questions that I had along the way about culture, history, etc., and was overall knowledgeable and kind. The people at the lodges that I stayed at were so accommodating and friendly, and the food was also really good. Seeing the golden monkeys was really cool and the absolute highlight was getting to trek with the gorillas. Hope you get to enjoy this tour as much as I did! Organizing the tour was quick and easy, with Aron offering quick and helpful communication. My guide, Danny, was friendly and easy to get along with. During our drives around Uganda, he provided insight into the scenes we passed and life in East Africa. The wildlife was incredible as well. The gorillas, of course, were the highlight of my trip, but I also got to see a wide variety of other animals, including elephants, lions, hippos, giraffes, and many more!! I felt safe the entire time and never felt like I had to worry about anything other than showing up to breakfast on time in the morning. Thank you for a fantastic journey and so many wonderful memories! Edward Cavendish2024-10-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. WOW! One of the best trips I have ever done! I highly recommend booking with Safari 2 Gorillas and ask for Aron, one of the best guides you will ever find! Everything was impeccable, from the mountain gorilla tour in Uganda, the golden monkeys in Rwanda, and the animal safari in Akagera Park, one of the best 5 days we have ever had! Do not hesitate and book immediately, you will not regret it. Bucket list checked! wascar2024-10-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently went on a gorilla trekking tour, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. First, the organization was chaotic from the start. The company changed my schedule last minute and we wasted a full day to get to the location. Once we finally arrived, the guides seemed unprepared and disorganized. There was little information provided about the trek itself or safety procedures, which left us feeling uneasy. My schedule as shown on the website stated that I would see 3 different parks, Rwanda and 2 in Uganda which would be a total of 4 nights for 1980$. I ended up doing one gorilla trekking and all he said the others are options. Please keep in mind gorilla trekking in Rwanda cost 1500. But the big kicker is he doesn’t make ur schedule in that park, he takes you all the way to Uganda to see the gorilla which cost 800$. I decided to only do two days and leave right after since he wanted me to do for the next 2 days basically nothing just waste my time at a place where they don’t even have wifi in the rooms only in the lobby. The gorilla encounter, was the highlight, and was amazing experience but for the price i recommend another company. Had to take him to the police station to make him lower the price. Overall, the experience felt overpriced, poorly managed, and far from the intimate wildlife encounter that was advertised. I left feeling more frustrated than fulfilled, and I wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-organized and respectful gorilla trekking experience. P.s he will send you a lot of pictures to make you book be advise. Angela Webster2024-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did a 7 day trip with Safari 2 Gorilla- including gorillas, chimpanzees, Akagera gate drive and Mt Bisoke hike. Martin was a great guide for my trip. The car was comfortable and I always felt safe with his driving. He was very friendly and accommodating, and was happy to take me to different places and accommodate any requests I had. The whole week was full of great memories. Wesley Verhoeven2024-09-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing experience and services ! We came across Safaribookings as we were interested in a lowland gorilla hike in the D.R.C. and chanced upon Safari 2 Gorillas Tours. Aron was our guide for our 3d2n trek and he was very friendly and knowledgeable - sharing with us the culture in D.R.C. and in Rwanda. We were very well taken care of and he made sure that we were safe throughout our journey. We will definitely recommend our friends and families to join their reasonably priced tour.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Incredible tour and even better service - Aron took care of us from our inquiry about the gorilla trekking to the very end. We were taken Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, apparently this one is the hidden gem. We found the family in an hour and a half hour to stay with them for 40 minutes or so. But the whole experience was incredible. We got lucky and saw a Golden Monkey as well!

A wonderful overview of the Pearl of Africa - This tour was a packed, diverse and fun tour of a country with so much to offer. Lots of wildlife. Beautiful landscapes and the amazing experience of the... read more Nile River. A lot of personal interaction with the people. The food was good and transport and accommodation were comfortable. An excellent value for an overview of this interesting country.
Subpar Guide Experience - Things I appreciated about the tour:
- Aron was a quick responder and accommodating on plans. We met someone in our rhino group who owned a children’s home nearby, and... read more Aron took me to visit later that day.
- Brought me to my hostel in Entebbe, which included a ferry ride. They were patient with the wait and made sure I got home with all my luggage.
- Chimp trekking and rhino sanctuary were cool
Things I did not like/feedback:
- Aron was not a chatty guide at all. He did not give information on the wildlife or make an effort to talk with me—it was pretty much silence for the whole two days of the tour, and I definitely got lonely. I was asked one question the whole two days, and I tried to strike up conversations, but they died pretty quickly. Would not recommend for a solo or private tour if you’re looking for informative, talkative companionship.
- Too expensive for what it was. They do give luxury-level accommodation, but the rhino tour is only 1hr and the chimp trek is 2hrs. The day was not filled at all, which I expected, given the price point. It seems like they purposely leave open space because they want to sell the extra $300 waterfall viewing, which I was annoyed about because I was already paying so much.
- Itinerary included pottery, which I thought would be a pottery class (that's what other travelers said they did, so I should have clarified, but it turned out to just be viewing a shop)—but all that didn't matter because they canceled the pottery part of the trip without telling me anyway. I had to ask in order to find out that we canceled that part, it was not voluntarily told to me.
- We finished a day early because the itinerary was so open/unfilled, so I got a slight refund. Not at all close to what I should have gotten though, considering we made a 3-day trip into a 2-day trip because of the lack of things to do. In fact, the second day was just driving back, and I ended up being driven around Kampala running errands with them—which was a waste of time for me. In my mind, this really was just a half day worth of activities and mostly driving. When I heard the price of the hotel and pottery and gas, it made me wonder where all the remaining cost of the tour was going to.
- Took a bunch of pictures of me without my permission. Even at the children’s home, the owner told him to ask for permission before snapping shots.
Helpful and efficient - I booked with Safari 2 Gorillas very last minute to do the gorilla hike in Mgahinga NP on Christmas Day. Aron was really prompt with all the communication, and I’m... read more so glad I paid extra with him (vs just booking the permit myself) because he was so helpful in solving some problems I had (like my visa not being approved quickly and also making me lunch when everything was closed on Christmas Day). My guide was also super friendly and easy to chat with. Everything they communicated would happen on the day went ahead exactly the plan! We saw the beautiful gorillas and there were two sets of couples in my group who had also done the gorilla trek in bwindi, and both said they thought Mgahinga was better for its openness!
For anyone else booking, the one point I did get a little nervous about was making the wise payment in advance because you never know where the scams are! But this is a 100% legitimate thing so don’t worry!!
